How To Find A Good London Printers
|
Okay, you’ve just been charged with the task of finding a London Printers to produce your firm’s letterheads, business cards, stationery or brochure.
Quick at the task you fire up Google and type “London Printers” only to discover that there are more than 20,000 results. Gulp. How on earth do you decide where to go for a quote, let alone which of the many companies to ask to do your printing?
Some basic facts about London Printers:
First of all, there simply aren’t 20,000 printing companies in London. In fact this would be more than the number of printing companies in the whole of the UK. So Google is providing you with more returns than London printing companies - but why?
The answer is that Google will also be displaying results for so called Directories. These are websites set up for little other reason than to attract people to browse their websites in order that you click on the links contained. And these links will of course be adverts for printing companies. The London Printers Directory owner has done their job by getting you to click and make them a few quid. You however will be no nearer to finding a quality London Printers to use for your impending print job!
So is there a better way to locate a good London Printers?
As with most business services, getting a recommendation from a colleague is always a smart option. Perhaps there is a London Printer that they have used before and they can give you a contact name.
But let’s assume for a moment that the reason you were on the web was because you didn’t have the luxury of someone to recommend a printer. So let’s try to narrow down those results again.
Not all London Printers are in London!
I know, this sounds crazy. You’ve just carried out a Google search for London Printers but it turns out that some of the listings will actually be for printing companies who are elsewhere in the UK. In fact when I recently did this search the first return was for Print USA. Not helpful.
The reality of a search engine is that it uses algorithms to try to be helpful and sometimes the results can be way off the mark.
A few tips on finding a good London Printer:
1. Click on their link and go look for their address. Most print websites have a Contact Us page. Find their physical address and make sure that they are actually a London based printing company.
2. Check their print samples. A good quality printing company will have a website which proudly displays their best work. Check that you can see the kind of printing produced by that company in the past.
3. Request a print quote. This is a surprisingly good test because you will be absolutely amazed by the number of London Print firms who simply don’t bother to respond when you ask for a quote for some printed stationery or your corporate brochure. If they are like this BEFORE you place an order, can you imagine how they will be afterwards?
Good luck with your search for a good print company and I hope that you find my user tips helpful. |
