Fortunately it doesn’t need to be that way and I’ve written this article to make your search for London printing services at little easier.
Tip One: Know what you are looking for:
Most people consider all printing services to be much the same. Unfortunately nothing could be further from the truth. In reality different print companies will boast a variety of different kit. Meaning that whilst one company specialises in say printed stationery, the next might be more expert in producing your corporate brochure.
The very first tip is therefore to be clear which kind of printing services you are after. Then start your research.
Tip Two: Ask to see samples:
As discussed, it isn’t enough to simple assume that the printing company you select provides the specific service you are after. In reality there are many print businesses which are offer partial printing services. And when they can’t do the job themselves, they’ll sub-contract it to someone else. This is not a great way to work because it means that there is a loss of control over the quality of your printed material.
So avoid printers who do not have all the print services in-house and definitely ask to see samples of their previous work. It can be very revealing indeed!

Simple thing really, but it is surprising how many printers don’t consider dealing with clients to be very important. So ring up the printer and see how fast they answer the phone and look out for some basic indicators about the kind of printing service they might represent. Can you hear a printing press crunching away in the background for example? That could indicate an one-man-band or a print company which certainly won’t offer the full range of services you might require.
Tip Four: Find out where they are based:
Yep, this sounds obvious, but if you are looking for printing services in London then take a moment to check that they are actually based in London. You will find that if you carry out a search on the internet there are a lot of printers who advertise to the London market, but they are actually in Timbucktoo - sometimes literally!
