Pass their tests with flying colours with an online resume.

Getting a job seems to getting tougher and tougher. I don't think shows like the Apprentice and X-Factor help. I'm being serious. Bosses see Sir Alan and Simon Cowell putting people through their paces and think why don't I do the same. Plus, thanks to modern technology, they can easily devise more tasks and hoops to jump through in order to whittle candidates down to the final few. But to be fair, there is plenty of validity in this approach.

Recruitment always used to be based around paper CVs, which are incredibly limited. With just a few bits of paper you can't really showcase your skills and yourself to any great extent. However, thanks to modern technology it's far easier to put a good CV together. If you do it online, you can add interactive elements to it. That's right, an online resume can really get you noticed and sell what you have to offer to any potential employer. Instead of just writing about your skills, you can actually demonstrate them too. Written a fantastic article for an industry magazine? Just add it. Gave a killer speech at a conference? Upload the video.

Recruitment is time consuming for employers. They take all the good CVs after filtering through hundreds. Then they have to decide who the really good candidates are and shortlist them for interview. This is very difficult from just a piece of paper. An online resume helps them to cut through this process and narrow down the right candidates in a fraction of the time. So do yourself a favour and take a short cut to the end of the race. You'll have the employer on side too because you've saved them a tonne of time. It's really starting to catch on, so don't get left behind. That old style CV isn't going to cut it for much longer.
