Prophets Predict Calamities Ahead as December 21, 2012 Approaches

While experts assure the public that prophecies of doom associated with December 21,2012, the end of the Mayan long count calendar system, are made up hype with no scientific substance, don't be so quick to purchase your "I survived 2012″ tea shirt. Other less well known but respected spiritual figures, with track records of prediction success, are telling us that the day will part of a period of real calamity for the Earth.December 21, 2012 looms closer and brings with it a thick horde of prophecies of doom, destruction and universal cataclysm. However, read the Wikipedia article about the day and you will see that both responsible astronomers as well as surviving Mayan theologians assure us that there is no scientific or Mayan religious prophetic evidence, whatsoever, that the day will be anything other than a normal day..
Other predictions of doom in 2012 are clearly efforts to turn the improbable into the probable and or to slur the time frame of historical predictions by famous seers and pin them onto the day December 21, 2012. For example, Nostradamus predicted that in 1999 the world would be attacked by a comet and the Earth would line up with the center of the galaxy. No comet did strike the Earth that year. And while the lining up of the Earth with the center of the Milky Way galaxy is associated with the Mayan calendar as well, the Mayan calendar describes the event as occurring in 2012 not 1999 and there is no reason to associate the alignment with any type of world cataclysm.
A slew of articles describe natural disasters that could occur in 2012 and at any time for that matter. These events include mega hurricanes striking Florida, destructive sea and climactic changes related to the melting polar ice caps, a huge mud slide in Washington state, a mega tsunami related to an earthquake and mountain collapse in the Canary Islands, asteroid impact, flu pandemic, nuclear war, man made black hole, (from cyclotron research), crustal pole shift , economic collapse, extraterrestrial attack, (we believe that one day advanced man will be able to travel through space at a velocity close to the speed of light or greater and perhaps an advanced civilization already has that capability and their invaders are hurtling towards us at the speed of light), gamma ray burst, magnetic pole reversal, solar flares, nearby supernova.
Most of the events in this list have an extremely minuscule chance of occurring. Even if they do occur, they are liable to manifest as very minor disasters and they might never occur or else occur at any time; they are not specifically related to 2012. The mention of these potential disasters in association with 2012 predictions are made to create a sensational effect, drive web traffic and sell products such as bomb shelters, movies or seed packets, (for survivors to start their gardens all over again).
In my investigation of Internet prophecies I did, however, come across two predictions which are not easily dismissed and which do give cause for concern. One set of prophecies comes from the Bulgarian mystic Vanga (Vangelia) Pandeva. This renowned seer began her career as a savant several years after losing her vision during a tornado attack that lifted her into the air carried her some distance and subsequently filled her eyes with sand before dropping her to the ground.
Her reputation as a visionary and healer grew as more and more of her predictions came true. Among the most famous prophecies she made are the following:
"At the turn of the century, in August of 1999 or 2000, Kursk will be covered with water, and the whole world will be weeping over it." (1980) – (In 2000, the Russian nuclear submarine Kursk sunk into the sea and was covered with water),
"Horror, horror! The American brethren will fall after being attacked by the steel birds. The wolves will be howling in a bush, and innocent blood will be gushing." (1989) – ( In 2001, the Twin Towers in New York were attacked by jet liners, (steel birds), taken over by terrorists, during the administration of George Bush),
2010 – The start of WW III. The war will begin in November of 2010 and will end in October of 2014. Will start as a normal war, then will include usage of nuclear and chemical weapons. (November 2010 has come and gone and no major war has yet broken out. There are, however, two major danger spots. North Korea has amassed many nuclear weapons and is currently threatening to start a nuclear war because of military maneuvers in South Korea. Iran is threatening to develop nuclear weapons, which they would use against Israel. Israel has already indicated they would act preemptively to prevent such an occurrence, and Iran and its allies have stated they would respond violently to such a preemptive attack. With her history of shockingly accurate predictions we can only wait to see what will occur. Should world war break out, as Vanga predicted, the dates of war described in her prediction include December 21, 2012.
Another mystic who has made prophecies about 2012, in the context of a series of earlier accurate prophecies, is the lesser known mystic Friend G. The story of Friend G's predictions are recounted in the recent Viking release "Super Life Secret Codes," by Great Sun. According to Great Sun, Friend G. referred to natural disaster that would strike Indonesia, (the boxer Tsunami), and followed up those statements with a series of predictions about natural disasters that would occur between 2005 and 2010. Great Sun indicates the prophecies came true with astounding precision. According to Great Sun Friend G subsequently warned that disasters might occur in 2012 if mankind does not repent.
What will happen in the next two years only time will tell, but we must keep in mind that while no known apocalyptic celestial or terrestrial event is on the immediate horizon, and while no recent natural disaster has caused more than severe local destruction, calamities such as nuclear war, or even unforeseeable events could occur, and no one can ever say with certainty that that won't take place.
