Your puppy needs your care and attention

When you bring home a healthy puppy you are in charge of his dog diet and keeping him healthy. We stock a broad range of dog crates that can be very useful in keeping your puppy safe when travelling in the car. A dog crate can also double up as your puppy’s bed in a corner of the living room.

Choose a dog crate that will be large enough to hold your pet when he has grown in to an adult. Puppies tire easily and they will soon learn that a dog crate is their refuge from the outside world. Try placing one of your old jumpers and dog bedding in his dog crate for additional comfort. It is important if you want your dog to see the crate as a place of safety and comfort that you don't use him being in there as a punishment. Instead give him treats and praise so he learns positive associations with the crate and make sure he is never shut in there long enough to soil the crate.

Dog crates can be useful when helping to housetrain as dogs don't like to toilet where they sleep, but make sure you help your pup to succeed by being realistic about the amount of time he is left in there before being allowed outside to toilet.

More and more people have valid concerns about choosing the correct dog food. However, manufacturers have placed all the information on their packets of dried food and wet food. A balanced diet of dried food combined with a mixture of meat, carbohydrates, vegetables and fruit can maintain a puppy’s digestive tract in very good order.

At Ideas-4 Pets we have trained experts who can assist you with all the relevant information with regard to a huge range dog products and great advice on pet care.
