Law Colleges In Australia

There are an approximate 28 law colleges in Australia. And the legal education that you get in each of these institutes is varied and is characteristic to it.
After the completion of secondary studies, you can take up law individually, or in combination with another subject like Science, Arts, or Commerce, which will be a five years program. But most students complete bachelor's studies in a non-law subject, and then opt for a law degree independently, at master's level. And then continue to doctorate in law.
At the end of study of law, you can practice as a lawyer, if you can prove to the authorities in the Sate and Territories that you have gained education in at least eleven branches of law, namely, criminal law, property law, company law, equity, administrative law, contracts, torts, federal and state constitutional law, evidence, and civil procedure. Apart from this you may have had other subjects also. You have to undergo a minimum of six months legal training as well before you can practice.
Australian National University (ANU)
The College of Law, set up in 1960, offers internationally recognized basic professional law degree at bachelor's level, and a postgraduate law course. In LLB, there are a number of elective choices available and the course is structured containing internships and training. At PG level, both Diploma and Master's program is offered. Also M Phil and PhD. The study includes the many branches of law.
University of Sydney
Sydney Law School was founded in 1855. Undergraduate and postgraduate learning is imparted by the highly efficient faculty.
Deakin University
The Faculty of Business and Law offers bachelor of Law and Master of Commercial Law.
Bond University
Offers LLB course in general and business law, in eight semesters. And JD program which is if two year duration.
University of Melbourne
Study of law at the Melbourne Law School is at the gradate level here. Students need to have completed a three year bachelor's degree to be eligible to apply. Otherwise, the course extends for 5-6 years, the first three being basic study in law and other subjects and the latter three concentrating on law specialization.
University of New South Wales
UNSW Law School offers unique courses like commercial law, children and law, law in information age, cyberspace law, sports and law, criminal law, disability rights and law, media law, insurance law, industrial law, banking law, social security law, public interest litigation, sports law, etc.
La Trobe University
It offers Bachelor of Law which is at graduate level.
University of Adelaide
Offers bachelor of law.
