Making the right choice of aquariums and fish accessories

Fish require the largest tank you can afford. It will be a good investment as it allows you to have more fish. The larger the volume of water in an aquarium the more stable it becomes.
Measuring the space allocated will ensure you choose the correct size for your new aquarium.
Fish that swim in an aquarium are happier with more room and they can have plenty of fish accessories to swim around including different plants and lava rocks to keep them happy.
Mostly hairnets are associated with hairdressers or the character Ena Sharples, played by Violet Carson in Coronation Street. Today they have another use.
A hairnet can be used as one of the fish accessories you can use in your aquarium to secure a plant until they take root.
To secure a plant such as Java Moss to a piece of wood or tufa rock a dark hairnet will gently hold the plant without it suffocating. In a few weeks the plant will grow and survive while the hairnet rots away.
If you own a hamster or a guinea pig you can use the droppings to feed your aquarium plants. This way of feeding plants was used long before manufactured fertiliser pellets were available.
