Sexual Health concerns should not be ignored

Despite sexual health education becoming more commonplace, it is still a reality that sexually transmitted diseases are becoming an increased health risk, especially amongst teenagers and young adults. Whist it is easy for people on the outside to look upon this as a black and white subject, for those who become affected by the fear or knowledge of these types of infections, it can be an extremely scary and upsetting time.

One of the most natural reactions if you are concerned about a STD is to simply ignore it, as it is not something which can be easily spoken about with family or friends and often has a shameful stigma about it. Whilst burying your head in the sand and hoping it will go away may help you deal with it in the short term, it is actually the worst thing you can do. It is crucial that anybody who has any concerns that they may have a sexually transmitted disease seeks help immediately.

At samedaydoctor we know what a frightening situation this can be, which is why we provide convenient clinics which are completely confidential. You will see a doctor in a private clinic, and you can remain completely anonymous and are not required to disclose any personal details if you do not wish to do so.

It is worth noting that in most cases. If a STD test is conducted early then the treatment is a lot more effective and the long term damage often reduced. Whilst it can be tempting to ignore symptoms, the damage it could cause to your body and future health can be serious, so early diagnosis is crucial. Some STDs do not have any symptoms, so if you have put yourself at risk at any point it is important to visit a STD clinic, even if you feel fine.
