Culture of Afghanistan Afghanistan has been a long standing nation in the history of the world. Throughout history, they have gone through numerous invasions. It is a melting pot of various traditions and cultures. They have different languages that have survived over a millennium. Afghanistan is a land of many religions, some of which are Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Zoroastrianism, and a lot more to occupy the list. Each religion of Afghanistan has its own tradition. They have a varied culture in depending on the people it shelters and the language spoken by the people. Afghan Art that Lived Centuries Several art styles developed over the centuries. The Gandhara art is considered the most famous art style that Afghanistan has. During a certain period, it was the prominent art. However after the invasions and migrations, western art started its way into the Afghanistan art and culture. Initially men did the artworks but now women are taking part in the design work. The Kabul museum is the center of attraction speaks volumes about the Pashto culture. One of the notable artwork of afghan artisans are the carpets that they make with the fine precision. They are world-renowned and exported to almost all parts of the world fetching them a good price. Women who were confined to their homes without freedom are now indulged in giving the best product of art works out of their imagination. It is generally said women have imagination power a step higher than men do. It is true else such carpets with such unique designs would not have been world famous. The intensity of the work been done on every unit of artwork is priceless. Afghan Music, Poetry, Architecture and Cuisines Afghan Poetry is dominantly written in Pashto and in languages like Dari. They are also written in Persian. Many poets emerged to develop the literature and the poetry literature. Lot of translations does occur from Pashto to other languages. Architectures of the building in Afghanistan also sing of their praises. The UNESCO has awarded them for some of the best constructions they own. Those sites are considered the world heritage sites. Some of them are Minaret of Jam and home of famous Buddha. Any country would have its own cuisines. Afghan too has its rich cuisines and they have their unique taste. They smell great and taste wonderful. Qabuli Palau with lamb, Lamb kebab is some of the famous dishes of Afghanistan. One could check out any food websites these would be the first in the listings.
