Affiliate marketing is so popular because it is relatively ready to get started with and can supply you with a hefty income. However, just with anything else that is fairly new or lucrative, there are myths that exist that can hold you back.
Plain and simple, it takes a budget and investment to get to super affiliate status. No doubt, you can get started without any initial investment. We all have heard that affiliate marketing has one of the smallest barriers to entry when compared to other business's but if you plan to grow then you must invest. The result will be more money for less work. The key area to invest in are paid traffic, technology, and outsourcing work. There is no excuse if you don't have a large budget because there are many free ways to get started as an affiliate. You can promote your sites for free using video marketing, article marketing, forum marketing, etc. Now that you have you have money to reinvest you need to spend it only on methods that will be profitable. This money can be invested into paid advertising methods such as Google AdWords, banner advertising, etc. Always spend your money on resources that only provide your business with an exceptional return on your initial investment. Once you establish a profitable source of advertising then you should go and find one more, and continue the process. That's the beauty of affiliate marketing; almost anyone can enter it without any money and then turn nothing but invested time into a substantial income in a short period of time.
As an affiliate marketer myth, you will time and again face the myth that says you shouldn't promote a particular product because the market is saturated. Saturation is a myth, personally I believe that it was a myth that was started by the most successful marketers to keep everyone afraid to enter the big money markets. I have no idea why so many marketers ignore large markets when these are the ideal ones to position yourselves in. The Internet is growing everyday so why be scared to enter any particular niche or market. All of this shows that there is always room to sell when you know that your target market is not limited. Imagine checking your email and seeing payment notifications from every continent in the world in your account. Saturation is not really possible in a large market because there are so many angles to market in it.
The only hard part of affiliate marketing is making up your mind to succeed and settling down to learn your first set of skills. Don't listen y=to this rubbish. Nothing but another myth. Don't doubt yourself by believing all of these false claims; find people who know the business then do what has made them successful.
It's not that difficult to make it big with it, as long as you're doing the hard work. You just have to know where you're going.
