Enjoy the Beauty of the Netherlands from Eindhoven


Eindhoven is one of the largest cities in the Netherlands and can offer a great base from which to explore this beautiful country. There are a wide range of activities and entertainments on offer in Eindhoven as well. These provide something to entertain all ages including modern shops, nightclubs, bars, theatres, live music and excellent restaurants.

Things to Do

There are many interesting sporting events on throughout the year in Eindhoven including the ProTour cycling time trials. The Philips Stadium is also home to a world class football team and there are plenty of important match fixtures throughout the year. Genneper Park is located right in the centre of the city and offers a number of pleasant walking and cycling trails. The park also has a good Open Air Museum and full and miniature golf courses. The Van Abbemuseum offers a great collection of modern and contemporary art with big names like Picasso, Kandinsky and Chagall on offer. As well as excellent exhibitions there is also an auditorium which holds a number of interesting lectures and presentations throughout the year. The Museum Kempenland is located in a historic church building in Steentjeskerk. There are a number of exhibits shown throughout the year including sculptures and paintings of native and European artists.

If you are interested in history then the Bombardment Bas Relief monument is a poignant commemoration of those civilians killed in bombings of the city during WWII. There are also some wonderful old churches in Eindhoven including the stunning gothic St Catharina Church. This is one of the most impressive buildings in Eindhoven and is open daily for visitors. The De Collse Water Mill is also worth a visit. This mill was made famous by a painting by Vincent van Gogh and is also surrounded by many pleasant nature trails.

Kids will love the Zwemparadijs de Tongelgreep. This amazing water park features water slides, steam baths, kid’s pools, tanning decks and other great features for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

There are lots of hotels in Eindhoven and you should be able to find one to suit your holiday budget.
