Reasons Why Tourists Love Melbourne?

Melbourne in Australia is a large city that is the most populated in Victoria and the second most populous only ranking behind Sydney. The population for the area is around 4 million people and the location is a major area for tourists to visit. The city was founded in 1835 and named Melbourne 2 years later in 1837. Tourism is a large part of the city because of the art, education, sports, and commerce that are spread throughout the city.

The caves of Princess Margaret Rose and Buchan are popular attractions for visitors to the city. They are well protected due to the delicate insides. The caves were formed by rivers that were located underground out of the limestone. Tours are also available on a daily basis for people to take in the experience.

People who have an appreciation for wine will want to take one of the Epicurean food and wine tours. They offer wine tasting with cheese in the Yarra Valley. The tour passes through not only the Yering Station Winery & Produce store but also a farmer's market and the Coldstream Hills Winery as well for a day filled with culture and experience.

History is rich in the Royal Exhibition Building which is accented beautifully by the Carlton Gardens that surround it. It is over 100 years old and was built in 1880 and holds the title of being the first building in Australia to be given the title of a World Heritage listing. Trade shows are commonly held here due to the fact that the interior has been renovated and the dome is so spectacular as it soars towards the sky. Each year the event of the International Flower and Garden Show is held here. Tours are available of the building as well.

The Melbourne Zoo is another popular location for tourists. Not only is it a fabulous place to see animals of all types but it is the oldest zoo in Australia and 3rd oldest in the entire world. It has undergone a few renovations since it was created and the highlights of it include the gorilla breeding program, a park for lions, and a house full of butterflies as well. It is open from 9am-5pm Monday through Sunday.

If you're seeking a fabulous view it makes sense to make a stop at the Rialto Towers and Observation Deck. It can be found at the tallest building in all of Melbourne on the 55th floor. It is relatively new and didn't open until 1994. The views that can be seen from it include the Port Phillip Bay and the city of Melbourne itself. There is a fee for admission but included in this are binoculars to get the best view of everything there is to see, cameras that have the ability to zoom in interactively, and an exhibit that shows the best of Melbourne that there is to see and what it has to offer. A gift shop and restaurant make it a perfect place to spend an entire day.
