Leather jacket repair instructions

Leather jacket is one amongst your lovable outfits. Everything related to it pleases you; after all it is your best friend for every occasion. So if you love it so much can you bear even if single mark appears on it? Of course not, then just think if it gets cut then? Do not worry. Leather repair kits are the solution which makes your leather jacket extremely soft and flexible and also retain its look like before.

Leather repair kits help you to continue wearing your leather jacket for years. It is also inexpensive, and is readily available at online stores as well in offline stores. Just you have to follow instructions carefully written on it.

Now let’s see what repair kits encompass. It includes different colored liquid adhesives. The adhesives are made to apply over the tear. But remember color of adhesive should perfectly match with the color of your leather jacket. For applying adhesive over the rip use the spatula that come along with the kit. Apply it evenly all over and make a point high or thick spots are not left. It should look plain like the rest of the leather jacket.

Next step is to choose a textured grain paper from the kit. Compare its color with your leather jacket so as to get the best match. The grain paper will form a grain in the adhesive so that it matches the rest of the jacket. Then properly place the grain paper flatly over the repaired area. After it take out heat applicator from the kit to heat the grain paper and the colored liquid adhesive. The heat makes the bond between the two secure. Heat applicator comes along with kit.

Let your leather jacket become cool and then wear it. You will find no trace of tear.

There is another method also to repair a leather jacket, but it is quite difficult. This you can do by actually patching the damaged leather jacket in the same way you would patch a pair of jeans. First remove any rough edges around the damaged part. If the damage is a burn, the entire burn out of the leather jacket needed to be cut.
Then look for a leather patch in the same leather jacket color and the same color grain as the jacket. Cut the patch in the same design of the tear area so that it fits exactly. Next, lay the patch onto a piece of linen that best matches the color of the leather jacket and cut the linen out an inch bigger than the leather patch.
At last, use a good quality clear adhesive to paste the leather patch into the cut out area of the jacket. Then, fix the linen patch over the leather patch. Place the repair under a heavy book and let it set until the glue dries out completely.
Thus you see your stylish outfit is so versatile with everything. Repairing is also very easy. After applying above instructions it is betted you will be looking for tear area and you will not get it.
