Mobility Equipment From Out And About Healthcare

When your mobility becomes a difficulty for you, personal hygiene and bathing can become extremely frustrating. Cleanliness and personal hygiene, are after all, a private and intimate matter, therefore asking for assistance can leave one feeling humiliation at even the best of times.

In order to give people with mobility difficulties, a number of mobility aids have been invented, and improved on over the years. Walk-in showers and mobility baths have been developed in order to allow users as much independence as possible, as well as providing technical assistance in the user's personal daily hygiene regime.

Mobility baths and walk-in showers offer the main advantages of having no deep inclines, or high edges for users to fall over. It is very important to consider if these easier, less expensive and faster methods are the solution for you, or if more sturdy and robust bathing aids are needed. Also please remember that most mobility walk-in baths have a step, so in addition to this you might need to purchase a bath lift for those with a more severe mobility equipment problem.

Walk-in baths require the tub to be completely empty upon getting into and out of your bath. This means that the faster it fills and empties can make the world of difference to a user. The last thing a person wants to do is to sit in a cold tub waiting for 10 minutes while the bath fills up around them! The more quickly the walk-in bath fills, the easier and faster a user can begin to enjoy their bath, and at the end of a soak, the more quickly the bath empties, the faster you can wrap a towel around yourself and get on with your day.

Doors on mobility baths either swing outwards, or open inwardly. An outward opening door allows a user to exit their bath quickly especially in an emergency, even if the water hasn't completely emptied, this providing a little added reassurance. The baths with inwardly opening doors offer a larger amount of security against leaks as the bath water seals the doors more firmly. It also has the added benefit of taking up less room.

There are many different choice available for those with mobility issues, when you're thinking of making a purchase, all good stores will have a customer service agent available to help you decide on which mobility bath is right for you.
