Be a part of something bigger and better. Many people feel like they are going against the grain and violating the rules and regulations that Apple has placed on the usage of the iPhone. This and the people who have decided to violate the company's limitations have actually formed their own group, also referred to as a subculture of iPhone users who have taken control over their devices.
Application backup is supported if you jail break the iPhone. The application can be downloaded totally free of cost and allows you to back up your important data and applications in the instance that something ends up happening to your device. If you don't have insurance on your iPhone through Apple and something happens you will be completely out of luck if you haven't backed up your data on your own. The programs that allow this without jail breaking cost a decent amount of money. Who wants to spend more money than they have to?
Maybe the biggest reason that people decide to jailbreak the iPhone is so that they have the ability to use it on any carrier that is available for them. This is a major thing because currently only one carrier is supported and whatever the reason, it may be not desirable or even possible to use them for your cell phone service. Unlocking can be difficult but incredibly beneficial to anyone who wants to use the iPhone for their complete and total convenience. |
