Strut Your Way to a Top Modelling Job

Many people aspire to be a model, for some it is a dream that they never try to attain, for others they won’t stop until they are on the books of a top modelling agency, and some try for years only never to make it. It’s common knowledge that the fashion industry is a cut throat world, and Models can be seen as disposable; therefore it is important to stand out from the crowd.

Models should be prepared for rejection. And it doesn’t mean they’re not good enough, it just means that an agency may not see their potential but another one might. However, a model has to be sure they have what it takes to make it, because if they don’t an agent won’t look at them twice. There are many specifications that agencies look for, and if a look doesn’t match their standard then they probably won’t be considered.

To be a female model you need to be 5 foot 9 inches or over, as most of the models for clothes are designed for a tall frame and if you don’t match the requirement then it could be hard to find a modelling job. Catwalk models generally have a slim figure, however due to the emergence of the plus size model it is now easier for a curvy girl to find a modelling job but their body has to be in perfect proportion.

Good bone structure is vital in being signed to a modelling agency, as it is important to be photogenic but also to have a unique look. Distinctive features allow a model to stand out from the crowd, however opinion on this matter can be subjective and many agencies may not be willing to sign you if they don’t believe you have what it takes. Aspiring models need to be strong, take in the negative comments but continue to strive to reach their goal.
