Wine of luxury, the most brilliant from Petrus

In 1925, Madame Loubat commenced to attain shares in the Societe Civile du Chateau Petrus and by the conclusion of The second world war was the sole administrator of Chateau Petrus. In 1961, the Chateau was handed down by Madame Lacoste and Monsieur Lignac, niece and nephew of Madame Loubat. Eventually Monsieur Lignac sold his shares to Jean-Pierre Moueix. unpretentious. There is nothing modest however in Petrus, a luxury commended wine in not only Pomerol, but in addition one of the very best in the world. Petrus owes a lot to Jean-Pierre Moueix who made sure that sharing was restricted in a way that would make sure it would gain a luxury history worldwide. Jean-Pierre isn't only a stunnning delegate; he is a good judge of luxury, all things which make life noble.

Petrus gets all the loving care and attention and interest of a fussed over infant under possession of Jean-Francois, the son of Jean-Pierre. The vines grow in stunnning clay soil, nothing like the soil of part gravel sand or clay sand that is found in adjoining properties and some are unusually aged, only replanted following the age of seventy. The fine wines arrives from grapes that are explicitly picked in the morning so as not to ruin them in the full heat of the sun. They are then fermented in concrete tanks, temperature managed, previous to being aged in 50% original French oak for 16 - twenty months. This first-rate luxury wine is very gently filtered, when needed, for apprehension of ruining some of the richness. Following this, a pre-assemblage is undertaken rigorously, with certain parcels being rejected from the Grand Vin. On average a year may yield at the very most 30 000 bottles of luxury wine and more lately this has been abridged even more.

The luxury wine care of Petrus is very distinctive, differing from the wines of adjoining qualities with its superior lavishness, power and deepness of colour that is rare. This magnificent wine comes with equisite flavors and aromas of spices and this is what sets the luxury wine beyond the rest.

The status of Petrus was seen when the wine received a gold medal in 1878 at the Paris Exhibition; this was the foremost wine from Pomerol to secure this merit, and of course at this time the reward carried a huge deal of weight, establishing Petrus as one of the very best wines.

The obligation to making one of the most superb wines remains the same even today. Petrus believe strongly in the long-established values of wine making while at the same time keeping in front with the very latest in technology. They head into the future looking ahead to generating several more luxury vintages of exceptional good quality.

Earlier this year 12 bottles of Petrus, 1982, (Sothebys lot147) fetched 34'500 (53'000/40'000), illustrating the remarkable interest for this superior luxury wine among the universal fiscal downturn.
