The Royal Court

The Royal Court Theatre in Sloane Square continues to produce some of the best new writing in world theatre. They have already had two very hot theatre tickets this year with West End runs for two of last year’s hits ‘Enron’ and ‘Jerusalem’. They also continue to produce shows which have the potential to be even bigger hits.

One of 2010’s highlights will be their Christmas show. Anthony Neilson who has dabbled in the form before has written ‘Get Santa’ which will run from the 1st of December. It promises to be very funny and also has original music composed by Nick Powell.

We certainly don’t want to give too much away but we will tell you that the show features an elf named Bumblehole and a scheming teddy bear planning world domination.

Another show that promises to sell out of theatre tickets very quickly is ‘Spur of the Moment’ written by Anya Reiss when she was just seventeen years old. It will be interesting to see if it emulates Polly Stenham’s ‘This Face’ which was written at an equally precocious age and went on to the West End.

This play runs from 14th July to 14th August and tells the story of a girl on the brink of adolescence and the relationship that develops with a twenty one year old lodger. Meanwhile Lucy Prebble’s ‘Enron’ continues its run at the Noel Coward Theatre until August 14th. It has been a huge hit but strangely closed early on Broadway. The play is a theatrical triumph, effortlessly blending music, dance and special effects into a compelling show.

At Concierge Desk, we pride ourselves on being the number one choice for people visiting London when they are looking for cheap theatre tickets and constantly seek out new offers and update our website with them.
