We in the UK, have to agree that our population is forever rising, if it is natural additions or from world migration, we find that hospitals both public and private are always on the recruitment for qualified staff as in locum recruitment. It would be a lot easier if our own trained staff were not attracted to foreign shores by lucrative contracts.
Therefore we have to boost staffing in addition to working with local acute and PCT strategies. These may include cost cutting plans and in some cases new commission.

We see Locum recruitment as an addition to Public Services that without we would have a health service that would be totally unworkable. Therefore we encourage the training of new staff in the Healthcare industry at national levels and encourage bigger budgets to be.
In addition we urge people in the UK not to abuse the NHS system that is in place and look at how best to self help. We have seen people turn up at A&E because they have broken a nail or got a minor cut on their figure. This is not acceptable and you see day in day out that the system is at breaking point.
It is not just front of shop that shows that there are shortfalls it is in the staffing behind the scenes. Rather than have a national budget each acute hospital are responsible for their own finances. It may be that they are short staffed however it may also be apparent that there is no money in the pot to use a locum recruitment company.
So whatever the issues we have to realise that in the UK it is not just about having qualified staff it is in additions having the correct budgets in place to support hiring staff to assist in areas that are under staffed. We must say that most areas will recruit at their expense usually going over budget not to affect the safety of patients. Let us see how the new government will tackle the use of locum recruitment agencies. |
