Gold is one of the most popular metals that have been used to make jewelry so far. It is often seen in history channels and movies that people of ancient times use to wear lots of jewelry made of gold. Gold jewelry items are preferred mostly by women; every women dreams of having a wide range of gold jewelry collection. Women have a close affinity for any kind of jewelry; even before the discovery of gold, women used jewelries made of stones or other metals. Every woman you see looks gorgeous when she wears some extraordinarily beautiful gold jewelry. Men also used gold ornaments, but not as much as women. Slowly, with time, the use of ornaments by men diminished. Nowadays, a man seldom wears any jewelry item, except the wedding ring. The wedding ring, gifted by one’s wife of the special day of wedding is the only jewelry item used by men nowadays. However, you can see some men wearing various types of jewelry items, but the normal average men use only the matrimonial ring.
Each and every man loves to wear the wedding band, as this ring holds the love and affection of his woman. The use of the matrimonial ring by men started during the Second World War; when the soldiers had to stay away from their women for long periods of time, they used to wear rings as a symbol of their loved women, to keep their memories always in their mind. Later, men from all over the world started using this ring as a symbol of love and commitment of his wife. It became a marriage ritual after that time and it is still practiced nowadays. The wedding couple offers each other the matrimonial rings, which bonds them eternally. The wedding ring is often considered as a symbol of love, trust and commitment of the wedding couple towards each other. This ring keeps the man and the woman together for the rest of their marital life, no matter how far they stay away from each other.
Choosing a wedding ring for a man is also not as difficult and time consuming as that of a woman’s ring. People do not have to look for any special design, color or anything. Men’s matrimonial rings are usually made of gold, platinum or tungsten, with no extra designs or stones on them. These rings are plain and flat, and wider than the women’s wedding ring. Besides the gold rings, another popular metal used for making ornaments is platinum. But, everyone can’t afford it because of the cost. Platinum is a very rare metal and hence it is very expensive. Whereas, gold is not as expensive as platinum and anyone can afford it. Platinum rings suites nicely on men; because of this many of them prefer to use the platinum rings. People can use any type of ring of any cost they want; but these things do not really matter. The only thing that matters is the sentiment involved with the ring. |
