Therefore, it should be fine for those who mainly browse the web at home or in the office where a Wi-Fi connection is available and only need the data allowance for the rare occasions where they have to rely on 3G. This tariff should suit most users based on average smartphone use, and has the added bonus of a free handset and an affordable monthly rate. This tariff can be purchased with 5 months line rental when using selected retailers.
If you are in a position to spend more on your monthly tariff, then Vodafone also offers a package which comes with much higher allowances in terms of its calls, texts and data. Vodafone’s most expensive HTC Sensation tariff costs £67 per month and the contract length is slightly shorter at 18 months, after which time you are free to renew or cancel the contract. Like the previously mentioned tariff, you are given the HTC Sensation handset for free. With the higher monthly payment, you will of course be entitled to a much higher usage allowances. Every month, you are allotted 3000 minutes of free calls which equates to a just under two hours per day. If you are a frequent user of text messages, you will be pleased to know that there are no limits to the number of text messages you can send with this tariff. Finally, the internet data allowance is more substantial at 1 GB per month. In the UK, there are now very few networks offering unlimited data like there were a couple of years ago, and 1 GB is about as high as you will find. Based on average smartphone use, it is unlikely that the majority will use even half of this amount of data in a month, so even frequent internet users will benefit. Like the previously mentioned contract, this tariff also entitles customers to a discount, with 8 months half price line rental, when purchased through selected retailers.
