Operating System
One of many choices that need to be made when going with dedicated server web hosting is the kind of operating system that is going to run. In general, the 2 choices that are available are Microsoft Windows and some variant of Linux. Those who want to use the latest open source software and get the best performance possible would want to use Linux since the operating system tends to use up less computing resources.
Those who would rather have a GUI for convenience to install software will want to stick with the Microsoft Windows environment. Keep in mind that there are many front-end software that makes administering with Linux fairly easy without having to use the command line. Nevertheless, the choice of operating system belongs to the customer.
