Canesten Cream

Thrush can be a highly uncomfortable and even embarrassing condition. Yet, thrush is very common and affects around 75% of women at some point in their life.

A common misconception of thrush is that it is a sexually transmitted infection, however this isn’t true. Thrush is actually a yeast infection caused by an overgrowth of the yeast Candida albicans. The infection has a number of attributing factors, most common of which are: antibiotic or oral contraceptive use, menstruation changes, pregnancy, diabetes, as well as various other deficiencies and immune system disorders.

There are a number of symptoms associated with thrush, including: swelling of the vagina; vaginal discomfort – commonly resulting in an itchy or burning sensation; genital skin splitting; creamy, white discharge with a yeast smell and a ‘cottage cheese’ look; and discomfort during urination.
Canesten Cream

If you have never had thrush before and think you may have it, it is advisable to consult your doctor on the appropriate course of action. Many thrush treatments consists of a combination of antifungal creams and oral tablets. The most popular thrush treatment is Canesten Duo, with each pack containing thrush Canesten cream and an oral fluconazole tablet. Thrush cream should be applied 2 to 3 times daily on the infected area.

Thrush treatment often works after just one bout of medication, with the thrush disappearing around 3 days following medication. If the condition remains over a period time you should consult your doctor.

Canesten Duo has two key components: a Fluconazole oral capsule and Clotrimazole thrush Canesten cream . Clotrimazole cream is used for immediate relief from symptoms, with the Fluconazole capsule getting to work in removing the root cause of the thrush; the tablet takes effect in removing thrush 24 and 48 hours following consumption.

Canesten cream provides instant, much needed relief and soothes the infected area; this tablet and cream combination is the ultimate formula in combating thrush, providing the quick fix and relief that you yearn for, whilst also removing the root of the infection.
