Moong dal khichdi for curing vata dosha


Are you suffering from vata dosha? Do you want to treat it in an ayurvedic way? Then moong dal khichdi is the easiest way to control vata dosha in your body. Both these cereals creates balanced diet and are rich in proteins.

Moong dal and basmati rice together aids in your digestion process while nourishing your body systems effectively. Check out the ayurvedic recipe of preparing moong dal khichdi for combating vata dosha.

Ingredients to prepare moong dal khichdi:

1 cup basmati rice, 4 cups water, ½ cup yellow spilt moong dal, ½ tsp salt, 3 tbsp ghee, 2 pinches hing, 1 tsp black seeds, ½ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp cumin seeds

Method to prepare moong dal khichdi:

First wash moong dal and rice in a bowl with clean water twice or thrice. Soak moong dal and rice in water for few hours.

In saucepan, heat ghee and crackle mustard seeds in it with cumins and hing.

After 2 minutes, add soaked rice and moong dal in it. Mix well. Now add turmeric, salt and other spices to it and mix nicely. Now add water to it.

Bring solution to a boil for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally. Keep it uncovered. Turn down heat to low, cover saucepan with lid and cook for half an hour.

Transfer khichdi to serving bowl and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
