A Closer Look At The Ingenious Swype Text Input Feature On The Awesome Galaxy Note

The Samsung Galaxy Note is the most advanced handset that the manufacturer currently has on the market. Every aspect of its spec list is impressive, incorporating the latest and greatest in smartphone technology. In this article though, I will be taking a closer look at one of it lesser known, but certainly impressive features called Swype.
What is Swype?
Swype is a text input system which allows users to speed up their text entry times by utilising the advanced touchscreen technology of the handset. The large 5.3 inch screen utilises super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen technology and has an outstanding resolution of some 800x 1280.
How Does Swype Work?
Swype works based on the way the user inputs the text. On most other smartphones, you touch each letter on the on screen QWERTY keyboard individually, but on the Samsung Galaxy Note, you do not need to take your finger off the screen. You simply slide your finger from one letter to the next. I’m sure you can see how this can speed up text entry times. With a little practice, using it becomes second nature.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is an ideal handset for many types of smartphone user. The versatility it provides is virtually unrivalled, so anyone can make use of its hardware and software alike. The Swype feature really sets it apart though and this makes it an ideal device for those who enter a lot of text on their phone; be it when writing an email, document, text message or social networking update.

Of course there is a lot more to the Samsung Galaxy Note, but hopefully you can see that if there is this level of innovation in a feature as mundane as text entry, then the rest of the handset is at a similar standard.
