Tomato fight in Spain

The world famous tomato fight happens in a place called Bunol, a part of Valencia. This is supposed to be the biggest food fight on the earth. The big fight attracts thousands of people from across the globe. The festival is officially known as La Tomatina. The festival begins with a five bulbous being sent to the sky along with the rocket that is packed with tomatoes. After this the great fun fight begins, as people start hitting each other with ripe tomatoes all over.The festival has an interesting history dated back to 1945. The place where the tomatina takes place every year is the town square. It is said that in 1945, there were many people gathered at the town square in order to see the carnival, wherein giant figures that had big heads would walk on the streets.
The spectators wanted to take part in the procession alongside the music band and the parade. So they pushed the people in front of them and suddenly there was total chaos, as people started pushing and hitting each other in a chain effect. As a matter of fact, there was a vegetable stall nearby and soon people resolved to throw tomatoes as a part of the fight. Though the crowd was controlled by police later and the people were charged for their damages, this became the base for the La tomatina festival every year.The festival begins with the big arsenal that contains 110 ton of ripe tomatoes, placed in the town centre. Then large trucks start carrying the ripe tomatoes and start throwing them on the waiting crowd. Then the people go in frenzy with throwing of tomatoes on each other.
However, in order to avoid any kind of mishap, the council have released rule for the festival. First thing is that the players are supposed to squash the ripe tomatoes completely before throwing them. The festival is exclusively dedicated to tomato lovers and so other products are not allowed at all. Ripping of the dress and unscrupulous activities are strictly prohibited. Frequently, the trucks patrol the streets in order to fill in more tomatoes. The people must be careful when the truck approaches them, as they get so involved in their game, that they do not realize the approaching truck. When the tomato fight concludes with a siren, the local people along with the council members clean up the city.
