Interesting Places In New Jersey


New Jersey a very important and beautiful state of the United States of America, is full of natural as well as man made beauty. This state is full of historical sites and natural parks, which are interesting to visit. In 1800s, the High Point State Park, which is in Sussex, was part of a private resort. There is a very vast and beautiful carriage road, which leads toward High Point Inn. From this High Point Inn on a very short distance, the highest peak of New Jersey is present. From this peak, the visitors and guests can see the whole Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. In the years of 1920s, this place became the property of the State and opened for the public. The most interesting and prominent thing is the obelisk of granite which is 220 feet (in 14000 acres park) from the High Point Inn. There are stairs inside the mountain, which lead toward top of the hill, and on the top of mountain, you can see scenes up to 40 miles away.

This park has lakes, swamp, forests, old farm fields, glens, and creeks. This park is favorite of many animals as you can see black bears, white tailed deer, and sometime bobcat as well. Many raptors and black hawks fly in this park along with bluebirds as well. Occasional turkey wild are also present in this park. In this park, more than nine hiking and jogging tracks are present. There are trained guides as well who are here to guide you during hiking. For day time there is a lake “Marcia”, this lake has one end for swimmers while on the other end of this lake there are picnic tables under the shadows of trees. This lake is full of bass, trout and pickerel, on the weekends of winter people come here for ice fishing. Second important and interesting place is Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The river Delaware winds across the Kittatinny Mountains. This river has 35 miles length between the Kittatinny Mountains and New Jersey up to Pennsylvania in the Mountains of Pocono.

The area across the river has many brooks, wooded hills, ponds, gorges, valleys, swimming beaches, many kinds of wild life, and waterfalls. A very beautiful and An ideal place for picnic is near Watergate across this river where trees are in a large number along with lush green meadow which has pond on its one side while on the other end there is a brook. This river has a dam at this place with two towers of stones. There are many travel guides and maps, which you can get from the Kittatinny Information Center. There are many other beautiful historical sites and natural parks in New Jersey, which are interesting to visit. Many people every year visits these places to enjoy the natural beauty and feel too much close to the nature. Over the places people can see variety of trees and animals in there natural environment without any disturbance.
