Discipline - Stand at Ease

While discipline is needed to pursue a course with dedication, it can put tremendous stress on the learner. There should not be undue effort to control the learner’s behaviour. If a teacher pushes it too far then the student will naturally lose interest in a given subject. The focus shifts from the lessons that ought to be taught, to the behaviour that is considered acceptable. It is necessary to observe norms in a classroom but it should be practiced not at the expense of the main objective of learning. If your child has problems learning in school because of the need to behave exactly according to the way prescribed then chances are that there is undue stress on discipline.
How is a teacher to know when and where to draw the line? This depends on the teacher’s understanding of the psychology of students. Very often when the dictatorial approach is the order of the day children will not take any initiative and it is a natural response to the technique employed by a strict teacher. More often than not teachers are not able to predict the behaviour of students and they adopt a technique that is cut and dried. This cut and dried approach may appear clear cut and tried but in the long run it will not help the students grow. It will make children dependent in some form or another on discipline without which they tend never to grow up to taking responsibility. The purpose of discipline is to develop a sense of responsibility in the audience and not control their every move. Naturally it will stifle your child and affect the morale of the individual learner when your teacher is breathing down your neck.
Why bother about the way teaching stifles learning through discipline when you can pursue online classes?
