What Features Can We Expect From The iPhone 5?

A new year is here, and we can expect to see some great new smartphones released within the coming months. We can expect to see a new iPhone released in summer, as well as a new flagship from the Samsung Galaxy range. In this article I will look at what features we can expect to see from the new offering from Apple.
Every summer for the last few years, Apple fans have been treated to a new version of the popular iPhone, and this year it is likely that we will see the release of the iPhone 5. Many were expecting this last year, however it turned out that Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S. In the iPhone 5, we can surely expect to see the same media fanfare and eager Apple fans queuing at Apple stores the world over. But what can we expect to see in terms of features?
It is more than likely that the iPhone 5 will have a dual-core processor like the iPhone 4S, but we will probably see more power than the 1 GHz chip found in the most recent model, perhaps a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor like the HTC Sensation XE. Also, the camera is likely to see an upgrade, as this has been the case with each consecutive iPhone release. With new releases like the Sony Xperia S boasting a 12 megapixel camera, we are sure that Apple will compete, and will more than likely increase the 8 megapixels of the iPhone 4S. In terms of the screen, this may be the year that Apple includes a larger screen, as the last few have had a 3.5 inch display. Whether or not this is the case, it is likely that the resolution will be increased on the iPhone 5. Samsung and Sony have both recently released handsets with higher resolutions than the retina display found on the iPhone 4S which was, until recently, the benchmark to which other smartphone screens were compared. Like other iPhone releases we are sure to see an updated version of iOS, and we can surely bank on seeing the innovative Siri and iCloud features included.
In terms of styling, it is likely that the iPhone 5 will see a completely new design aesthetic, in the same way the iPhone 4 differed from the 3GS. Until the handset is unveiled, we can only speculate as to the design, but it is probable that Apple will focus on providing a slim and stylish handset.
Whatever features the iPhone 5 has, it is guaranteed that it will impress across the board. Android smartphones are currently increasing in popularity and posing a real threat to Apple’s market share. Apple is likely to respond to this with an array of innovative features, and we will also see the typical media hype surrounding its release.
