A canvas that is painted in various colours and patterns- India is the land of diversity and integrity. Much often, you might have heard this line, but little you would have known about the diversity and integrity of this country until you read this article.
Be it food, Indian culture, traditions, art or industries, India has a broad palette that displays them all extravagantly. If you got to perceive the real Indian picture, you actually got to delve yourself into culture based Indian food and comprehend what’s so special about Indian cuisine.
In India, there are various castes, cultures, regions, religions and sects, and all of them practice different food culture. That’s is one reason why Indian food is categorized into various slices such as North Indian cuisine, South Indian Cuisine, Mughlai, Punjabi, Gujarati and Bengali Cuisine. Indian food complements the balanced diet chart and hence a complete meal of one type provides adequate nutrition and energy for a human body.
There are various interesting Indian recipes from various cultures. Each culture represents its essence through the food they eat. For instance, South Indian Cuisine is mainly made from the food items that are found in the south Indian region and are served on banana leaf which are found in abundance there.
Microwave cooking has helped the Indian culture to spread its wings across the length and breadth of the country. This is how it happened- there are various Indian recipes that weren’t easy for a different culture to adopt. For instance, we have idlis and dhoklas that were primarily cooked only in the South India and Gujarat but with the help of Microwave cooking, almost every household cooks these easy Indian recipes.
Apart from cuisines and cooking, Indian arts, crafts, religions and industries too have a significant backdrop to be discussed. Indian arts are globally renowned in the areas of temple and sculpture arts, miniature making and painting, and folk and tribal arts too. Various Indian crafts items that are famous worldwide are carpets, canvas, paintings, carvings, jewellery, metal work, baskets and pottery among many others. Indian crafts have bagged a lot of reputation in various national and international exhibitions, handicraft display shows and competitions.
When it comes to travelling across the length and the breadth of the country, India has various pilgrimage places that depict various religions of India. There are some pilgrimage places like Char Dhams, Shakti Peeths, Holy Cities, and Temples that represent Hindu religion while Fatehpur Sikri, Charminar and Jama Masjid are some popular Muslim pilgrimage places in India. Various religions of India such as Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity and Sikhism are all found united and integrated in the country, while their presence represents the religious diversity in the county.
Indian industries are based on various arts, crafts, religions, and the skills that the acquired by the Indians through centuries of experience. There are various Indian industries that cater to several global needs including textiles, handicrafts, handloom, sugar, steel and most recently added information technology. |
