Video games can teach lessons about being successful in life

People spend lots of money visiting seminars or reading books on the topic “how to be successful in life”. Well, there is another, more entertaining way to come close to the fundaments needed for success. You can learn about those fundamental lessons by simply playing video games. I’ve made a list of four key points that video games teach you about success. Take a look.
Try to define a strategy according to your goals
You will not be able to accomplish the most important task in the game, if you don’t have a strategy for action. Creating a strategy is a must. For an example, you happen to be playing the role of an army leader who is attempting to win the battle. So, you’ll need to formulate a strategy that will show you the recourses you should use, what sort of weapon you need to buy, what is the role of every single player and so on.
It’s exactly the same within the real world. Having a desire for something is not enough. You must make a strategy that will guide you through the way to success.
Success requires practice and experience
If you want to be a solid game player you have to be master in certain areas. You can not stand against all skilled players if you don’t have the necessary expertise in certain areas such as knowing the capabilities of a certain weapons, the geography of a map etc. Each level requires certain amount of expertise. So, you must practice the same level over and over again until you have mastered it.
It’s the same in the real life. Success doesn’t come easy. If you want to be good in particular subject or area, you have to work hard on it. For an example, you want to play piano better or be a better writer. So, you must to repeat and practice the particular subject or area until you have mastered it.
Try to solve the problems as they come on your way
Try to imagine the following situation. You play some hidden object game and at one point you are faced with a problem. How do you react to that? Are you going to cry and quit of the game? Probably you’ll start looking for a solution and continue with the game.
It should be the same in your everyday life. The path to success is filled with rejections, pain, hard work and other disappointment things. Don’t let them knock you down. Try to overcome all the obstacles that will stand your way.
Take responsibility for your actions
As you go through the game you make your own choices. Sometimes you choose to spend all of your money on buying more powerful weapon, so you can defeat the enemy easer. Sometimes you choose to keep the money for emergency needs. Each action you take it’s your own choice. You are the one who is responsible for success or fail. In the real life it’s absolutely the same. You are the one who is in charge of everything that happens to you. The behavior, the actions you take and every single thing you perform in the real life is a direct result of your own thinking.
It’s really amazing how a simple playing of video game can teach you lots of valuable lessons. So, what are you waiting for? Find some game full with challenges and start equipping your mind with winning attitude. |
