The Eye Catching HTC Rhyme Boasts The Handy HTC Sense 3.5 User Interface

The HTC Rhyme is arguably one of the most eye catching smartphones currently available, thanks to its purple colour scheme, meaning it is ideal for those who also view their phones as a fashion statement.

Among its key features is v3.5 of the HTC Sense UI, which I will take a closer look at in this article.

When you look at the lock screen of the HTC Rhyme you will notice that there are four icons on the bottom of the screen, with an unlock ring. To unlock the screen you simply slide the unlock ring into the unlock area. However, if you want to go straight to one of the four applications, you simply slide the icon onto the ring. The screen will then unlock and you will be taken straight into that application. This feature is useful for getting into apps instantly without the hassle of unlocking the screen and then selecting your chosen app. For example, if you have an unread text message or email, a missed call or social networking notification, you can instantly open the appropriate app and respond, and then lock the screen again with minimal hassle. The four apps on the lock screen can be customised with the apps of your choice, so you can set the apps which you use most often for maximum convenience.

Once you have unlocked the screen, you will be presented with the default homescreen. This lists five apps down the left hand side of the screen, which can be customised to the apps you use most often. You can then swipe the screen to the left or right where seven homescreens will be revealed. These can be customised with apps from the Android Market and widgets from the HTC Hub. Therefore, you are able to assign a homescreen for different situations or tasks such as work, social networking or gaming etc.

Of course there is much more to like about the HTC Rhyme than just its HTC Sense UI. There is a 5 megapixel camera with 720p video capture, a powerful 1 GHz processor and fast internet browsing among many other features. Combined with its unmistakable aesthetics, the appeal of the HTC Rhyme is rather broad. If you are interested in this smartphone, you will be pleased to hear that it is available now on major UK networks, with several offering the handset for free on selected tariffs.
