A Closer Look At The Relatively Inexpensive HTC Wildfire And Explorer

When choosing a new smartphone, users are spoilt for choice these days. With high end devices being released on a regular basis from the likes of Apple, HTC and Samsung, many often overlook the more affordable handsets available.

A couple of good examples of the lower prices handset on offer these days are the HTC Explorer and HTC Wildfire S. The popular and prolific Taiwanese manufacturer has recently released some high end handsets such as the Sensation XE and Evo 3D, but as you will see in this article, even its budget handsets offer some great features found in more expensive smartphones.

HTC Wildfire S
The HTC Wildfire S is an upgraded version of the highly popular Wildfire. It offers features like a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and VGA video capture, a capable 600 MHz processor, and the Android OS. Over the top of the operating system is the innovative HTC Sense UI. This allows users to assign multiple homescreens and download apps and widgets from the Android Market and HTC Hub. The HTC Wildfire S also has a decent touchscreen as well as internet browsing courtesy of Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity. Social networking, multimedia use and gaming are all tasks which can be ably performed by this handset, as well as a whole host of other everyday tasks.

HTC Explorer
The HTC Explorer, like the Wildfire S is able to carry out many of the tasks that you can on a more expensive smartphone. It is similar in many ways to the Wildfire S, with a similar processor and screen. The camera is 3.15 megapixels, so it has a slightly lower resolution than the Wildfire S. what it lack in camera resolution, it makes up for in some more up to date technology, most notable the latest version of the Sense UI (v3.5). It also has 14.4 megabytes per second of data download speeds compared to the 7.2 Mbps offered by the Wildfire S.

As you can see, by choosing a more affordable smartphone, you do not necessarily have to sacrifice an entire spec list. Thanks to downloadable applications, phones like the HTC Wildfire S and Explorer can be customised to an individual’s preference with application which can greatly increase the versatility and functionality of a handset.

The HTC Wildfire S is currently available from just £10.50 per month with a free handset on Vodafone, and the HTC Explorer is available on T-Mobile from just £10.21 per month, again with a free handset. For deals like these and many more, visit PhonesLimited.co.uk today.
