Brief history about Mitsubishi Engines and Nissan Engines

In the year 1973; Mitsubishi motors’ came out with the first prototype for the foundation of the Pajero vehicle line; this was then followed by another prototype in the year 1978 named the Pajero II. For another 5 years before the vehicle manufacturers had put this Pajero II car into production. The word Pajero was not taken as marketable in few countries as it does not decode favorably into some languages. This led to Mitsubishi to design different name badges on the basis of where the car was launched leading to the vehicle also called as the Mitsubishi Montero and the Mitsubishi Shogun.

The 1st generation of car production for Pajero was in the year 1982; this generation continued till the year 1991 and was at the start introduced as a 3 door with the choice of a canvas or metal top and 3 different Mitsubishi engines type. This first generation car came fully laden with features that were never seen in4 wheel drive vehicles in Japanese market before.

Features which were standard in the carswere such as suspension seats, power steering, a double wishbone suspension along with a torsion bar spring setup and the convenience of a turbo charged diesel Mitsubishi engine. In the same year later on; the car added a 5 door long wheel built variant to its lineup. This was to give Pajero look more like a family car rather than just an off road car. Between the year 1989 and year 1990; Mitsubishi had sold more than three hundred thousand Pajero worldwide.

It than on the record altered its name to Nissan Motor Co. Ltd on 1st June 1934.

The founder of the company was Yoshisuke Aikawa and he had very aspiring plans for the anew formed company to manufacture 10000 to 15000 vehicles per year.
