Brief history about Subaru Engines and Isuzu Engines

Post World War II rubble; Nakajima Aircraft Company created a company that manufactured motor scooters from airplane left over parts. Twelve different operations were finally formed under Fuji Sangyo Company. Six of these distinct units came together to create Fuji Heavy Industries in the year 1950; with the express determination of entering into the car manufacturing industry.
The name chosen for the automobile make was Subaru; the Japanese term for the six star clusters in the heavens; The Pleiaides. The title is descriptive of the 6units that came together to create FHI.
From ominous start; the Subaru brand of light trucks, utility vehicles and autos has come to signify a quirky; capable choice of intelligent; free thinking people who value quality and act in their vehicular options.
Subaru is not put in the basic transportation mainstream of the automobile industry. Rather; they have put themselves in a different league by aiming educated, younger, discerning people with liking for adventure; who are also considered as solid, smart but definitely different.
This corporate marketing plan is demonstrated by the point that Subaru was the 1st automobile company to provide boxer engines in mass manufactured cars and SUV’s. Of course, Ferrari and Porsche offer or have provided boxer engines but neither of these 2 manufacturers does mass production. Subaru Engines is one of the best in the automobile industry today and the performance of the car is great due to this.
Additionally; Subaru has merged their acceptable All Wheel Drive system into all of their car models; making them one and only manufacturer who offers traction benefits of all the wheels driven by their high reviving boxer engines.
Amongst the most sought after Subaru car models are the Legacy (1989); Impreza (1993); Outback SUV (1995) and Forester SUV (1997).
Isuzu Motors Limited has long history of excellent manufacturing of trucks and cars of all sizes. Their commercial automobiles and diesel Isuzu engines is considered to be one of the best in their market segment today.
In the year 1916; the Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Company had created a strategy to work in collaboration with the Tokyo Gas Electric Industrial Company to manufacture automobiles .In addition; in the year 1918, this new company got a license to manufacture and sell vehicles in Japan which were created by the Wolseley Motor Company; which was located in the UK. This started a big history for the future Isuzu Company in terms of international joint ventures.
