Make interesting and fun pancakes for your kids

Can you imagine your child’s face when you show him Mickey Mouse shaped pancake? How about a regular round pancake with some cartoon character made from fruit. Well, you don’t have to be professional cook to create fun meals. There are some really easy make and interesting pancakes ideas. Read the following suggestions which can help you to turn your usual pancake meal into an extraordinary meal.
Different shaped pancakes
You don’t have to be an art master to make some funny shaped pancakes. Using simple squeeze bottle filled with pancake batter can get the job done. We all know that the old traditional way of making pancakes consists of spooning the batter into the grill in a cycle shape. When you design a pancake you don’t have to stick to the old way. Take the bottle in your hands and squeeze the batter into a heated and oiled griddle. Write your kid’s name or the initial letters. You can make numbers to encourage them to learn counting. Maybe you’ll need a few tries to master this technique, before you move to drawing more complex pictures.
If this is too complicated for you, try to use metal cutters for shaping the pancakes. The cutters can make really nice shapes, such as star, flower or heart. Cooking shaped pancakes using these items is extremely simple. Place the item on the griddle and fill it with pancake batter. Remove the item when the pancake is ready to turn. Then try to decorate the pancakes. If you lack decorating knowledge, try some cooking game. It can give you an idea about different pancakes decorations, such as strawberries, whipped cream or powdered sugar.
Fruit face pancakes
If you don’t like the different shapes or if they do not fit your style, you can make easy decorations with fruit. Try to make fruit face on each pancake. For an example, you can draw your kid’s favorite cartoon character by simply arranging the fruit on the pancakes. Try to use half-strawberry for the eyes. One blueberry can be placed in the middle, as a nose. For the mouth try using orange or melon slice. Use any fruit you like, as long as it looks as part of the face.
Pancake sandwiches
Start the cooking process by making the pancake batter a little thicker then regular. After that, use the pancakes as bread slices to make pancake sandwiches. Fill the sandwiches with savory or sweet ingredients. If you prefer salty flavor, try to make filling from scrambled or fried eggs with cheese and bacon. For sweet fillings you can use apples mixed with cinnamon and sugar. It’s a really good sandwich filling.
Remember that kids are not attracted only by the taste of the pancakes. They want to see a little rainbow in their plates. Kids simply adore colorful meals. So, make one for your kid and give him moments of happiness. |
