Char Dham Yatra - the most religious excursions for Hinduism

Char Dham Yatra in India is the most holistic tour of the country, adored by all Hindus and several other global tourists. It is believed to be a tour to get final emancipation from the swing of life and death. It has a special significance in the Hindu religion and is preferred by all Hindus at least once in their lifetime. It is also considered to be a mode to get one with God and get the celestial blessings.

What Comprise Chardham?

Chardham as per Hindu religion are the four abode of gods and goddesses. The four Dhams are Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

Location and Significance of Char Dham

1. Badrinath Dham: Badrinath temple is located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, India. It is the temple of Lord Vishnu and is most easily approachable Dham among all four. It is believed that the shrine of Badrinath was built in the 8th Century AD by Shankaracharya Ji.

Badrinath temple consists of around 15 idols of Hindu gods and goddesses, which include lord Vishnu, Mahalakshmi, Kuber and many more.

2. Kedarnath Dham: Kedarnath Dham is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated at the head of River Mandakini in the Himalayas. Along with all people seeking for freedom from incarnation, it is also visited by thousands of Shiva devotes and culture lovers every year. The shrine of Kedarnath is supposed to be a thousand years old and is connected with the holy epic Mahabharata. You’ll find idols of Lord Shiva, Nandi and Virbhadra at the shrine.

3. Gangotri Dham: Gangotri is the house of Goddess Ganga and also the birthplace of the same. Located near Gaumukh Glacier, Gangotri is the prime source of Ganges with several other attractions grabbing hundreds of religion devotees to the place. The shrine is visited by maximum tourists during the festive season named "Akshaya Tritiya" every year. It is celebrated with full pomp and show in the month of May every year.

4. Yamunotri Dham: The name “Yamunotri” comes from the holy River “Yamuna”. The shrine of Yamunotri is located in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It holds ultimate significance among Hindu pilgrims and is believed to be the home of Goddess Yamuna. Several hot springs at this Dham tempt worldwide tourists to come and watch the ultimate power and charisma of Gods in the vicinity of nature.

To sum up, all of these Chardham have high religious importance and also offer picturesque natural sceneries to all tourists coming to these places. So search online and choose the best among several Char Dham Yatra Packages you’ll find on the Internet. The choice should be based on affordability, time period, facilities offered, etc.
