The division of a single physical server into a multiple server is which serves different operations with different appearances & capabilities are known as virtual server. It enhances the capability of operating system (whether it is Linux, Windows or any other operating system) and the hardware.
The Virtual server can reboot on its own. Although it does not access to hardware & are usually booted from disc images.
The practice of virtual server was firstly started in the Main Frame Computer generated earlier.
Applications of virtual private servers: - It reduces the cost which is spent on dedicated servers. Also it rescues the rest of the server if a single machine deliberately runs software having security flaws. The measures taken from the server from the server is been utilize for the safety of data which is been processed in the machine.
Virtual server hosting is been provided by a number of companies and individuals as it works for the services of web hosting. Also virtual web hosting is the cheaper option of web hosting as there is no extra payment for the dedicated server.
The method for the accomplishing web hosting is: - Name based & IP address.
The internal web hosting in which a server is leased by a clients not shared by any another machine for any other purpose is known as dedicated virtual server. It is only used by the client for its operation.
This dedicated server increases the flexibility of the client as it has the choice of choosing the operating system and hardware required for the machine.
The Virtual Private Server (VPS) is basically used for the management of the resources of a company like the operating system updates, firewall management, application management etc...The operating system can be updated and the can be used by the virtual server for its operation. |
