An Overview of The Main Features Of The Impressive HTC Evo 3D

The HTC Evo 3D was one of the first smartphones to be released, along with the LG Optimus 3D. In this article I will look at some of its key features so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.

Camera
Obviously, the main selling point of the HTC Evo 3D is the fact that it has 3D functionality. Along with its screen, the camera is the main feature to showcase this feature. The 5 megapixel camera operates at a pixel resolution of 2560x 1920 when taking 2D images. The 3D functionality operates thanks to an additional 2 megapixel stereoscopic camera which focuses on two different points to produce the 3D image. The camera comes with a dual-LED flash, as well as autofocus, so taking good quality still images is a relatively simple task.

Memory
The HTC Evo 3D comes with a modest 1 GB of internal storage as standard, which is fine to get started, but you will probably need further storage if you plan on keeping photos, videos, music tracks, document or apps on your phone. This can be achieved by utilising the micro SD slot, which can accommodate a compatible memory card of up to 32 GB, which is sure to be ample enough to cover the needs of most users.

Operating System
The operating system of choice for the HTC Evo 3D is the popular Android platform, in this case it is the latest version 2.3 (aka Gingerbread). This well known software is renowned as the best alternative to the iOS platform found in iPhone models, and is very customisable and easy to use. The HTC Sense UI (HTC’s custom Android interface) runs over the top of the Android platform, and further enhances the customisation options of the phone, and provides a number of innovative features, widgets and apps.

Processor
The HTC Evo 3D has a powerful 1.2 GHz dual-core processor under the hood, providing plenty of computing power to run demanding applications and various aspects of the hardware, such as the responsiveness of the touchscreen. The processor also lends itself to the loading times of web pages, and the loading and operating times of applications.

Of course, there is much more to the HTC Evo 3D, such as its capabilities as a web browsing device, its comprehensive multimedia compatibility and social networking integration. It makes a great alternative to the popular iPhone series, and the 3D functionality makes it stand out from the crowd. It is available now on various UK networks, several of which are currently offering the handset for free on selected tariffs.
