The Feature Packed Nokia N9 Has An 8 Megapixel Digital Camera With HD Video Capture

In this article I will take a closer look at some of the key features of the Nokia N9, which is the company’s latest flagship smartphone.
The handset measures up at 116.5x 61.2x 12.1mm, so it is a relatively compact and certainly slim handset. The front of the device houses a 3.9 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which has a pixel resolution of 480x 854. This means that the content of the screen is displayed in very high quality with good levels of detail and clarity. One of the major advantages of AMOLED screens is the fact that colour saturation is very good, and also battery consumption is generally less than the usual LCD or TFT screens.
The Nokia N9 does not have a micro SD slot as many other smartphones do, but the N9 comes in two different versions which have an internal memory capacity of 16GB and 64 GB. Therefore, the needs of most users should be catered for, as the handset can comfortably store an entire music collection, or hundreds of photos, videos, allocations and documents.
As a camera phone, the Nokia N9 is well equipped to take high quality still images thanks to its 8 megapixel unit which operates at a pixel resolution of 3264x 2448. The camera comes with a decent list of features such as face detection, autofocus, dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics. All of these contribute to the quality of the resulting images. The camera can also be used to shoot video footage, with setting of up to 720p HD included.
When it comes to internet browsing, the Nokia N9 also impresses. In order to connect to the web, Wi-Fi offers the best option. This allows users to browse at the fastest possible speeds, and has the added benefit of less battery usage than 3G, and it does not use up your data allowance, should your mobile contract have such restrictions. If no Wi-Fi networks are available, then the default 3G connection can still be used to connect to the internet, with browsing speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps available, which puts the Nokia N9 on par with the HTC Sensation and the iPhone 4S in this department.
The operating system found on the Nokia N9 is the little known (in the smartphone arena at least) MeeGo Harmattan. This offers an alternative to the numerous Android and iOS handsets which are currently proving so popular. Under the hood there is a 1 GHz processor, which is by no means groundbreaking, but it provides all the computing power needed to produce pleasing performance from the hardware and the software alike.
The Nokia N9 is available now on SIM free deals, which provides the flexibility to utilise the network and tariff of your choice by installing an appropriate memory card.
