The Feature Packed HTC Titan Features The Windows Phone Mango OS

The HTC Titan is the huge new Windows powered smartphone from the ever prolific Taiwanese manufacturer. In this article I will introduce a few of its key features so you can decide if it is the smartphone for you.

The first thing you will notice about this device is its large dimensions. As the name suggests, this is a hefty smartphone, weighing measuring up at 131.5x 70.7x 9.9mm. The size of the phone is due to the large 4.7 inch screen which dominates the front, but the phone does maintain a slim profile. The S-LCD capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 480x 800. This may not be as high as many other new smartphones, but bear in mind the size of the screen. The display quality is still very good, and lends itself to viewing photos and videos as well as gaming and web browsing.

Whilst the HTC Titan does not have the micro SD slot than most new smartphones do, it more than makes up for it with its 16 GB of internal storage. This may not seem like the most in the world, but thousands of music tracks, photos, videos and apps can be stored in the phone.

Browsing the internet is strength of the HTC Titan thanks to data download speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps in areas with 3G coverage. Wi-Fi is also included as an option whenever you have access to local wireless networks. The latter is the favourable choice due faster speeds, less battery consumption and it does not use up your data allowance.

The HTC Titan has a high quality 8 megapixel camera which is capable of producing very pleasing still images and capturing 720p high definition video footage. The camera comes equipped with all the usual extras such as autofocus and LED flash as well as geo-tagging. There is also a secondary 1.3MP camera located on the front of the phone which can be utilised for video calls and self portrait photos.

Aside from the size of the phone, the biggest talking point of the HTC Titan is the Windows Phone Mango OS. This is version 7.5 of the increasingly popular smartphone platform and offers a very attractive interface which is very different to iOS or Android. It has tile like layout which allows users to quickly and easily navigate to their chosen application or hub.

If you are looking for something different to the usual iOS or Android offerings, the HTC Titan may be worth a closer look. Once you see past its size, you will surely be pleased with the features it offers. There has never been a better time to pick up an HTC Titan as several UK networks are currently offering the handset for free on selected tariffs.
