We Look Over Two great new Devices-The Blackberry Curve 9380 And The HTC Explorer

There are some superb premium smartphones available but these devices do not suit every consumer. Some people simply desire a more basic phone or one that is available at a more wallet friendly price. We take a look at the Blackberry Curve 9380 and the HTC Explorer, two of the best budget handsets available, and see how these models differ from one another.

Both of these excellent new handsets offer compact dimensions as they do not include the huge displays that can be found in a number of more premium models. The Blackberry Curve 9380 has dispensed with the Qwerty keypad found on many other RIM devices in favour of a full capacitive touchscreen. This display measures 3.2 inches and can show a resolution of 360 x 480 pixels. The HTC Explorer uses the same sized display but one that offers a slightly lower resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. This means that the HTC offers a pixel density of 180PPI which is slightly lower than the 188PPI achieved by the Curve. The Blackberry is also a more pocket friendly device measuring just 11.2mm in depth and weighing an incredible 98 grammes which makes it one of the lightest phones you are likely to encounter. The Explorer is still fairly impressive in this area but does measure just over 1mm more in depth and weighs 10 grammes more.
Multi media fans will be pleased to note that both of these handsets offer a great range of media facilities.

Digital still cameras are fitted inside both of the models with the Blackberry Curve 9380 ultimately proving the better equipped model in this area thanks to a 5 mega pixel camera. This facility boasts some useful features such as an LED flash which helps improve the results in poor lighting conditions. Image Stabilisation software is also included to help you achieve the clearest possible final image. The HTC Explorer features a lower quality 3.5 mega pixel camera but does include a slightly higher standard of video capture which is 480P resolution compared to the VGA quality that is recorded by the Blackberry. When storing your multi media files a large amount of storage capacity is required and these two models are both well equipped in this area thanks to a micro SD card slot that can accept card sizes up to 32GB.

The Blackberry Curve 9380 and the HTC Explorer are two of the best value smartphones available. The Blackberry offers more in the way of features but the HTC does run on the Android operating system that is popular with many consumers.
