The shops that dominate the market, and saving money

The Christmas bells are chiming in the city centres around the North West and echoing this are the frantic shoppers that are filling the streets looking for the perfect presents for their friends and loved ones. The stocks in shops are being consistently re-filled and only the empty boxes are left once the day is done. The toys, the clothes, the board games, the days out and innovative products are being bought and gifted to those who desire them and the money is flooding in.

Many shops are selling products within the pricing strategy of price skimming, in which companies enjoy driving prices high in order to capitalize upon the opportunity to gain huge profits. However those companies in which are risk-takers and use price penetration to set low prices and encourage brand and customer loyalty in an extremely competitive time of the year. Competition pricing may also be used, as many stores may choose to use discounts on goods that are selling for a more expensive price just next door. Also, some shops may use loss leaders to heighten awareness of their store; this could be a "buy one and get one free" offer.

Shops have a seasonal demand, and some have a niche market to target a small audience. Certain shops selling Christmas goods or fireworks may go into administration for it not being so successful in the seasons in which they dominate the market. They gain a huge market share when no others around them compete; targeting a 90% market share creates ways in which companies must have additional stock in preparation for a higher amount of consumers. However, at the end of the season when there is surplus stock, deals are created and offers are shown to the public eye.

Many shops who sell huge innovative products that are high in the growing list of technology maintain their reputable image by upholding their many points of sale and high cost products. Some may choose to target different groups of people in order to gain an advantage. Those who have a first mover advantage often have a unique selling point and those who do have this may dominate the market.

Certain shops in certain seasons will change their methods of sales, and deals throughout the year take place due to different social means. During these periods, deals of certain percentages will be taken from the original price.

Author Resource:- There are large shops around the UK offering discounts in store, but there are also discount vouchers available for these stores if you search the internet. JungleDrum can distribute money off vouchers directly to your mobile phone, or in printable form on your desktop PC.
