The Superb Samsung Galaxy S2 Has Thousands Of Downloadable Applications From Android Market

It has recently been revealed that Samsung is now the world’s bestselling smartphone manufacturer, surpassing the figures boasted by the like of HTC and even Apple. This is thanks in no small part to the Galaxy range such as the Galaxy S2 which has now sold well over 40 million units.
Part of the popularity of this handset is no doubt provided by the Android OS, which offers downloadable applications similar to the AppStore for iPhones. Android Market has recently announced its 10 billionth app download, which again, beats Apple in terms of numbers. In this article I will look at how the Android Market benefits handsets such as the Samsung Galaxy S2.
A massive part of the appeal of smartphone is the option to download applications, and thanks to the high end hardware offered by the Samsung Galaxy S2, there are hundreds of thousands of applications to take advantage of this, increasing the versatility of the device massively. Whether you want to use for phone for work or play, or anything in between, you are sure to find numerous applications to suit your needs. I will outline a couple of examples below:
Business
Thanks to the apps available on the Android Market, you can use the Samsung Galaxy S2 for productivity tasks in the workplace. Examples of this include Documents To Go. This is an Android optimised version of Microsoft Office. This means that you can use the app to create, edit and send Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
Games
Many people use their phones as gaming devices and thanks to the screen resolution and dual-core processor, the Samsung Galaxy S2 is ideal for gaming. A good example of a popular game is Angry Birds. This has been the top paid app on both Android Market and AppStore for quite some time and it recently celebrated its 500 millionth download. The game is simple to play, simply by using the touchscreen to adjust the angle and power of the catapult which is used to fire the angry birds at the targets.
Health and Fitness
There is even a number of health and fitness related apps which can be downloaded from Android Market. These include Recipe Search which contains a database of over 70,000 recipes with ingredients and step by step instructions, along with VirtualGym, which shows you step by step instructions to perform a variety of exercises using machines, bodyweight and free weights.
This is just an example of the applications available on Android Market, and hopefully it has given you a picture of the diversity of applications available. To make the most of these applications, I recommend a smartphone with capable hardware such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the HTC Sensation.
