The Superb Blackberry Curve 9360 Features A 5 Megapixel Camera

The Blackberry Curve 9360 is a great example of RIM doing what it does best. This compact handset offers everything you would expect from a Blackberry device, such as a Qwerty keyboard, decent internet browsing and a 5 megapixel camera.

In this article I will take a closer look at the key features of the handset so you can decide if it is the right mobile phone for you.

The handset measures up at 109x 60x 11mm, so it is a compact device and very pocket friendly. It is also very lightweight at just 99 grams. The front of the phone houses both the 2.44 inch TFT screen as well as the Qwerty keyboard which the Curve and Bold ranges are known for. This feature makes the Blackberry Curve 9360 a great option for those who like to send a lot of text messages or emails, and are not won over by the on screen keyboard provided by touchscreen phones.

To store your files, the Blackberry Curve 9360 offers 512 MB of storage to get you started, but there is also the option to utilise the micro SD slot which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB. This means you can store your music, photos, videos apps and documents on the phone so you can have instant access to them wherever you are.

As with most Blackberry smartphones, users can expect a good internet browsing experience with the Curve 9360. Thanks to 3G coverage, decent data download speeds of 7.2 Mbps can be achieved. Meaning that web pages load quickly and YouTube videos play with minimal buffering. Wi-Fi offers an even faster connection, along with the added bonus of not using up your data allowance of you are on a restricted data plan.

As a camera phone, the Blackberry Curve 9360 does a good job thanks to its 5 megapixel unit which operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1944. This comes with an LED flash, face detection and image stabilisation as standard, so taking good quality pictures is a relatively simple task. VGA quality video can also be captured using the camera, and although it may not be up to the standard of the 720p and 1080p HD offered by many newer smartphones, it still produces results which are sure to please most users.

The Blackberry 7.0 OS is the operating system of choice, and this works in conjunction with a relatively powerful 800 MHz processor to provide a great user experience, although it has to be said that functionality is the order of the day with this phone as it seems to lack the flair and more advanced specifications found on most new higher end smartphones.

For what is essentially a budget smartphone, you cannot go wrong with the like of the Blackberry Curve 9360.
