The Versatile HTC Rhyme Has A High Resolution Display

The HTC Rhyme is one of the latest handsets from prolific smartphone manufacturer HTC. It is essentially a mid range smartphone, and offers a decent package of features with the added bonus of being a stylish device.
In this article I will provide an overview of some of its key features so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.
Operating System
The HTC Rhyme incorporates the popular Android platform as its operating system of choice; in this case it is the latest version, called Gingerbread (v2.3). Android enjoys a high level of popularity thanks to its customisable interface and downloadable apps from Android Market. The HTC Sense user interface is also included, which allows users even more options in terms of customisation with the ability to assign multiple homescreens, and downloadable apps, widgets and themes from HTC Hub.
Internet Browsing
Using the internet on the move is an important part of smartphone use for many users, and provides a great deal of the appeal of smartphones as a whole. The HTC Rhyme is well equipped for this task; with both 3G and Wi-Fi connections as well as Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities which can turn the handset into a portable wireless router (using your 3G connection) to power other devices. Wi-Fi is the optimal connection method, as it uses a local broadband connection, meaning that the browsing and download speeds are fast, and it will not use data which is handy of you are on a limited data plan. The HTC Rhyme uses the default HTC Sense web browsing application, but you can choose to download additional browser from Android Market, with notable alternatives including Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera Mini.
Touchscreen
The HTC Rhyme has a decent S-LCD capacitive touchscreen, which is highly responsive (thanks in part to its 1 GHz processor), and does a great job of displaying photos, video, web pages and games thanks to a pixel resolution of 480x 800. This may not be up to the standard of the iPhone 4S or Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but unless you are a technology enthusiast you are unlikely to notice the difference.
Camera
At 5 megapixels (2592x 1944 resolution), the camera on the HTC Rhyme is capable of taking good quality photos, and comes with an LED flash, autofocus and a number of adjustable settings. As an added bonus you can also use the camera to shoot video footage in 720p (high definition). Thanks to the comprehensive social networking integration of HTC Sense, you can share your handiwork on Facebook and Twitter immediately after taking your pictures or videos.
Overall, the features of the HTC Rhyme are very good, and although it may not match some of its higher end counterparts in terms of it technical specifications, it offers a great user experience with the added bonus of being a great looking phone with its purple colour scheme. If you are a style conscious user and you are looking for a great looking phone which has many attractive features, the HTC Rhyme comes highly recommended.
