The Stunning HTC Titan Has The Easy To Use Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Operating System

The HTC Titan is one of the largest smartphones to carry the new Windows Phone 7.5 (aka Mango) operating system, with its huge 4.7 inch screen, 8 megapixel camera and 1.5 GHz processor among its other notable features.

The focus of this article will be on the new operating system. I will introduce a few of the features of the interface, for those of you who are not familiar with Windows Phone.

Layout
On the homescreen, you will notice the classic Windows Phone layout, where the main applications are more like tiles, which fit together to fill the screen, unlike iOS or Android where apps are represented by small icons with a lot of wasted screen space in between. These are customisable so you can have the apps which you use most often on the homescreen.

People
One of the most important apps is the People app. Rather than display your contacts in the traditional phonebook format like most other smartphones, it presents all contacts in your phone, pulling feeds from your contacts list, email contacts list, Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites. You can also divide all of your contacts by categories such as friends, family, co-workers etc, so you can quickly find the contact you are looking for.

Messages
The messages app is similar to that of many other smartphone platforms in that SMS conversations are displayed in a tethered format which displayed all sent and received messages in chronological order.

Email
The email application on the HTC Titan is very simple to set up. It allows users to set up and sync their existing email accounts onto the handset. Popular email services like Gmail, Yahoo, AOL and Windows Live can all be synced within a few simple steps. Once set up, users can then read unread messages, and send new ones. On the homescreen, the email icon will display the number of unread messages, as does the messaging app.

The HTC Titan has many other impressive features which are sure to catch the attention of prospective buyers. The hardware on offer includes an 8 megapixels camera with a flash and HD video capture, a powerful 1.5 GHz processor and plenty of internal storage. Internet browsing is provided via 3G and Wi-Fi, and applications can be downloaded from Windows Phone Marketplace.

If you are looking for an alternative to the iPhone and HTC handsets which are currently flooding the market the HTC Titan comes highly recommended.
