A Review Of The HTC Sensation XE And HTC Sensation XL

If you thought the HTC Sensation was an impressive phone, you would be right, but now there are two new upgraded models of the Android powerhouse. The HTC Sensation XE and Sensation XL boast several performance upgrades, adding even more appeal to the already extensive spec list of the original Sensation.

In this article I will compare some of the main features of the Sensation XE and the Sensation XL, so you can decide which is better suited to your needs.

Processor
The HTC Sensation XE is officially the most powerful smartphone in the world in terms of processing power. Its 1.5 GHz dual-core processor improves on the 1.2 GHz dual-core chip of its predecessor, resulting in enhanced performance such as faster loading and operating times of applications, a more responsive touchscreen and more efficient multitasking to name but a few benefits. The Sensation XL has a single core processor, but at 1.5 GHz, it is still a very powerful unit, which outdoes most other competing smartphones and even many tablets.

Beats Audio
Both handsets include the sought after Beats by Dr Dre audio technology and both come with a set of Beats headphones which are rapidly replacing the iconic white earphones by Apple, as the headphones to be seen with. The Beats technology is aimed at reproducing music as it was meant to sound when being recorded in the studio. Needless to say, it produces far superior sound quality to standard smartphones, and this feature alone is sure to generate many sales for HTC.

Styling
Both the Sensation XE and XL have been given a makeover to distinguish them from the standard Sensation. The Sensation XE looks nearly identical to the original in terms of its size, shape and design. It has however received Beats Audio branding on the back, and many details have been replaced in red. These include the speaker grill, and the lights on the capacitive Android shortcut keys. The Sensation XL has seen more of a change, with a completely redesigned aesthetic. It is larger, in order to accommodate the bigger screen, and most noticeably, the handset is finished in a head-turning white colour scheme, and also has the red Beats Audio branding on the back. Both handsets are sure to please style conscious users who also view their phone as a fashion statement.

The Sensation XE and XL have both retained everything that users liked about the original HTC Sensation, but given it even more appeal with Beats Audio and aesthetic upgrades. The Beats Audio integration is sure to prove popular, and is a step in the right direction if HTC want to match the sales figures boasted by Apple and its ever popular iPhone series.
