The HTC Sensation XE Provides An Outstanding Spec List

The HTC Sensation recently took over the HTC Desire HD as the manufacturer’s flagship Android smartphone. This has just seen two upgraded versions, the Sensation XE and the Sensation XL. In this article I will take a closer look at the HTC Sensation XE and how it differs to the standard HTC Sensation.

Styling
The handset appears very similar to the standard Sensation at first, but on closer inspection you will notice a few subtle differences. To start with, the speaker grill and capacitive Android shortcut keys at the base of the screen are now an attractive red, and there is some red HTC and Beats Audio branding on the back of the handset. The overall size and shape remains the same, with its slim profile and large, high resolution touchscreen.

Beats Audio
Beats by Dr Dre is fast becoming the go to brand when it comes to quality audio equipment, namely headphones. The HTC Sensation XE comes with built in Beats Audio technology, ensuring that music playback is as good as it can be. As an added bonus, the handset comes with a set of Beats headphones included, which are renowned for their sound quality. There are several other enhancements which make the HTC Sensation XE a desirable music phone. 4 GB of internal storage is included as standard, so users can store a good number of music tracks on the phone right out of the box. The microSD slot is also included which can hold a memory card of up to 32 GB, but unlike the HTC Sensation, the Sensation XE does not come with the pre-installed 8 GB memory card. Overall, it is clear that the HTC Sensation XE has been geared towards those who like to play music on their phone, but it still retains the versatility that the HTC Sensation is known for.

Processor
The HTC Sensation has a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, which is now a mainstay on high end smartphones, but the HTC Sensation XE goes one better, and packs a whopping 1.5 GHz dual-core chip under the hood. This is the highest currently available for a smartphone, and in terms of processing power, gives the HTC Sensation the title of the most powerful smartphone in the world. In practice, during day to day use the difference between the 1.2 GHz and 1.5 GHz units may not be too noticeable, but users are certainly assured a great experience. The processor is responsible for multitasking, loading and operating times of apps, responsiveness of the touchscreen, speed of web page loading and graphics when playing games. This processor means that the HTC Sensation trumps the competition in all these aspects. Too put it into perspective, the HTC Sensation XE has some 50% more processing power than the new Apple iPhone 4S!

Aside from the features outlined above, pretty much all the specifications remain the same between the two. If you like to use your phone for music, playback, the HTC Sensation XE comes highly recommended.
