Beaches of Kerala - Too Many Destinations to Visit


Kerala is full of beaches, a beautiful land, the state, which is the God's own country; the following are just a few of them. Beypore Beach, a beach located on the mouth of Chaliyar River, this beach is a revitalizing on. A beach which gives you a sense of tranquility and serenity, mixed with a warm breeze, makes it an ultimate destination for its visitors.

Kappil beach, another fine beach which gives a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. This is a fresh and a moderately shallow beach, which is famous for adventure sports. Swimming and Sun Bathing are a few attractions which pull people to it.
Kozhikode, a preferred spot for those who seek for a perfect sunset sight. The beach is rich to hold a light house and also two sea piers, which are almost 125 years old.

Fort Kochi Beach is at some 12 km from Cochin. It is actually a fishing village. Also believed to be the first European township in India, this city still has the old charm of a colonial place. The vicinity of the beach is also rich in many heritage tourist attractions. A stunning collection of stones and shell decorative and ornaments are also available at the small shops around the beach. The place gets very lively during the New Year Eve carnival and celebrations.

Cherai Beach, a beach which is located near the Vypeen Islands is the best sought after destination for swimmers. It is surrounded by the sea on western side and backwaters on east. This gives a very unusual look to the beach. The land is also blessed with coconut groves, thick and dense and some interesting Chinese fishing nets. A very clean beach, it also has an extended shoreline of about a km in length.

It is a very pleasing sight for eyes, with the recently made beautiful beach area and also the catchy walkway decked with high mask lamps. At a distance of forty km from Kochi is Mararikulam. A home to one of the vivacious and upcoming beaches of Kerala Mararikulam, the atmosphere around this place is very exhilarating very gives one a very ecstatic feeling, leaving one energized and refreshed. The bright sun and a relaxing you can lead to a tropical tan, with which you can also take a dip in the salty water. Parasailing and Surfing area a few of the adventure sports which can be enjoyed here.

Varkala Beach

A stunning beach at a distance of 54 km north of Thiruvananthapuram. Many foreigners can be seen here enjoying the calm atmosphere away from the driving madness of the fast city life. The beach is very well known for its exceptional landscape, which is formed by the high rocky cliff, which ends abruptly and a stretch of clear sand extending down to the sea. The given contrast makes the beach a very lovable sight. The beach is also called a 'Papanashini', following that a dip in the holy waters of the beach is believed to make pure, one's body and soul of all the sins which have been committed.
